Excellent Opportunity for a CA(SA) Head of Accounting, International Transport Logistics Industry. Port Elizabeth (R 1.2M to R 1.5 M pa)

POSITION INFO:

CA (SA) Head of Accounting, Transport Logistics, Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape (R1.2M – R1,5M pa CTC, Negotiable, for the right candidate) 

Our Client, an International and well-established Transport Logistics Group is seeking to URGENTLY appoint a seasoned and dynamic Head of Accounting to not only lead, but mentor and inspire a team of direct reports, based in their Port Elizabeth Operations Finance Business Unit.   

MAIN PURPOSE FOR THE ROLE:

• Report directly into the CFO
• Supervise the accounting, treasury, and tax function
• Assist with controlling tasks.
• Oversee the Financial reporting function.  

KEY COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS:    

• CA (SA) with minimum 5 – 10 years post articles experience
• Up to date knowledge on IFRS Account Framework and tax legislation
• Excellent SAP knowledge as it pertains to the Accounting Function
• Excellent computer literacy in MS Office
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work to tight deadlines and under pressure
• Strong attention to detail 

KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS (KPA’S): 

• Supervise accounting function
• Ensure timely completion of monthly and annual Group reporting.
• Draft financial statements and manage the statutory audit on behalf of the legal entity.
• Responsible for treasury function including taking responsibility for ongoing treasury cash position and cashflow forecasts reported to Group
• Responsible for tax function including quarterly and annual group tax reporting and filing all tax returns with local tax authority
• Assist with controlling tasks including budgeting and forecasting
• Leads, mentors and develops a high performing team of  finance staff
