CAD Designer

A reputable aerospace engineering and consulting services firm is seeking to expand its CAD Department with a highly skilled and hands-on Mechanical CAD Designer experienced in the aerodynamic design of flight vehicles.

POSITION INFO:

Key Responsibilities:

• Contribute to the mechanical design and development of various aerospace systems and components.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful completion of aerospace projects.
• Design and develop parts and assemblies using CAD software.
• Create detailed technical drawings for parts and assemblies.
• Ensure all CAD work meets internal and global standards, providing reliable and consistent output.
• Manage CAD data configuration and control, utilizing PDM (Product Data Management) and PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) software.
• Perform quality control tasks to ensure parts and assemblies meet specifications.
• Assist with hands-on integration and assembly during research and development activities.

Required Qualifications:

• Relevant training or education in mechanical design.
• Expertise in SolidWorks.
• At least 5 years of experience in precision machine design and/or aerospace engineering.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and practices.
• Knowledge of product lifecycle management (PLM).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to work well in a collaborative team environment.

Desirable Skills and Experience:

• Practical knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
• SolidWorks PDM experience.
• Familiarity with product lifecycle management.
• Experience in a CAD office environment.
