POSITION INFO:
Key Requirements:
- Grade 10 education.
- Two years of experience in a similar environment.
- Experience in various functions of this role.
- Plan, organize, and oversee food preparation and cooking.
- Supervise kitchen staff and support the Catering Manager in running the establishment.
- Promote a harmonious working environment and teamwork among the staff.
- Maintain company standards and procedures as per the client's requirements.
- Collaborate with the Catering Manager to cost daily menus.
- Purchase or requisition supplies and manage their usage.
- Conduct weekly stock-takes and ensure proper food rotation.
- Ensure storeroom access security and authority.
- Assign duties to kitchen staff and supervise their work.
- Be prepared to personally prepare dishes when needed.
- Inspect dishes for quality and presentation before serving.
- Ensure compliance with hygiene and safety regulations.
- Maintain records related to food production activities.
- Assist and deputize for the Catering Manager when required.
