Our client is a multi‑disciplinary consulting firm specialising in the planning, design, and delivery of sustainable infrastructure and socio‑economic development projects.

Job Description

You will:

Manage and prepare a range of statutory planning applications from inception to approval
Engage with municipal officials, project stakeholders, and professional teams
Provide strategic planning input into development feasibility and project structuring
Compile high-quality planning reports and supporting documentation
Monitor regulatory processes and proactively address delays or objections
Contribute to spatial planning initiatives and policy-aligned development proposals
Support multidisciplinary coordination across engineering, environmental, and architectural inputs.

Qualifications

Relevant degree in Town Planning or equivalent (BTRP / BSc / BPlan or higher)
Registered as a Professional Planner (Pr. Plan) with South African Council for Planners for a minimum of 2 years

Skills

Minimum 5 years’ experience in town and regional planning
A deep understanding on how decisions actually get made in municipalities — not just what the policy says
Ability town a project, and show initiative
Strong written and verbal communicator — clear, structured, persuasive
Commercial awareness — understands that planning is not academic, it’s about unlocking viable development
Comfortable operating in grey areas and imperfect systems, while maintaining professional integrity
Ablility to balance technical rigor with practical delivery
Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel for site visits and stakeholder engagements.
