JOB SUMMARY:
My client, a leading manufacturer of furniture situated in Worcester is looking to appoint a Cost Accountant. Reporting directly into the Group Head of Finance. This role would suit a candidate who enjoys working with both finance and non-finance staff and enjoys the exposure to different parts of the business including manufacturing, warehousing and commercial teams. No day will be the same and you will have the opportunity to impact site profitability and efficiency.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Preparation, investigation, analysis and reporting of Income Statement and Balance Sheet items on a monthly, quarterly, year-to-date basis against the prior month/ quarter/ year as well as against budget/ forecast
Preparing sales and profitability analysis
Analysis and reporting by way of rate and volume variances and process analysis of specific Income Statement and Balance Sheet items through critical analyses of trends, cost drivers and key performance indicators
Establish Standard Costs and update as appropriate
Analysing manufacturing variances
Producing inventory reports
All areas of Accounting around stock including inventory valuations
Establish recovery rate per machine/products type
Attending Production meetings as en when required
Preparation and analysis of Departmental Management Accounts as well as conducting review meetings with Budget Owners/ Division Heads and providing feedback to Executive Members
Preparation, investigation, analysis, and completion of the short-term Cash Forecast
Support business with costing/ profitability analysis of projects as well as other ad-hoc functions
Forecasting activities alongside the Finance team

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

Relevant 3 Year Degree completed (specialising in Accounting/ Management Accounting)
Minimum of 3 Years' post qualification experience in the field of Accounting/ Management Accounting
Strong technical knowledge in fields Management Accounting, Reporting and Forecasting
Advanced MS Excel and Word
Experience with ERP Systems
Completed/ Signed Off 3 Years Articles would be advantageous
