A five-star boutique safari lodge perched above the Klaserie River, in the heart of the Greater Kruger, is seeking a capable couple to fill either a CAMP MANAGER & FIELD GUIDE or a MAINTENANCE MANAGER & FIELD GUIDE combination.
POSITION INFO:
This is an ideal opportunity for a couple who work well as a team; one partner taking the lead on lodge operations or maintenance, the other guiding guests through Big Five game drives and walking safaris. The lodge is intimate and guest-focused, so both roles require a genuine hands-on approach and a love of remote bush living. Core Criteria: Previous experience in camp management or lodge maintenance, and in professional field guiding, is essential FGASA Lead Trails qualification and valid firearm competency required for the field guide role Strong leadership and organisational ability for the management role Excellent guest interaction and communication skills Comfortable living and working in a remote, unfenced reserve environment Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work well as part of a small team Flexible and adaptable; willing to step in wherever needed Core Responsibilities: Camp Manager route: Oversee day-to-day lodge operations and staff coordination Manage stock control, ordering, and basic administration Uphold service standards and guest satisfaction throughout the stay Maintenance Manager route: Oversee general maintenance of lodge buildings, vehicles, and equipment Manage maintenance staff and coordinate repairs proactively Ensure the property is kept to a high standard at all times Field Guide (both routes): Conduct game drives and lead walking safaris\/bush walks for guests Track and interpret wildlife with a strong focus on guest safety Build rapport with guests and share knowledge of the reserve's ecology On Offer: Live-in position; accommodation and meals Medical aid and provident fund contributions after 4 months 21 annual leave days
