POSITION INFO:
Minimum Requirements:
- A four-year LLB Degree
- Practical Legal Training (PLT)
Skills and Attributes: - Motivation to work
- Commitment to the values of the legal profession; integrity, diligence and confidentiality
- Ability to work independently and in a team
- Good oral and written communication skills in English.
- Computer Literacy especially proficiency in MS Office and legal databases
- Demonstrable passion for Social Justice.
Key Roles and Responsibilities Include: - Consultations with clients and render legal services to indigent communities around Alice and East London.
- Drafting of pleadings, attending matters at court, and tribunals.
- Undertaking the administrative duties in the Legal Aid Clinic
- Community Engagement as well as involvement in social justice issues organized by the clinic and Faculty of Law
- Undertake the training and mentorship of law internship students in line with the objectives of the Legal Aid Clinic
