SUMMARY:
Our client, one of the largest international oil and gas organisations, is seeking a Gas/NGL Processing Facilities Planning Specialist to work within the Gas Facilities Planning Division.

POSITION INFO:

The purpose of the role is to conduct feasibility studies on major addition and/or upgrades to existing gas processing and NGL facilities, and opportunities framing and evaluating carbon abatement including Carbon Capture Utilization and Sequestration (CCUS). Perform evaluations required to establish and support long term business strategies related to gas and NGL facilities, corporate decarbonization, and energy transition strategies. Prepare Design Scoping Papers to define capital projects covering gas processing and NGL facilities, including CCUS. Provide technical consultation to Operating Organizations, Engineering and Project Management.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering or related degree from an accredited university. A Professional Engineer (P.E.) or Chartered Engineer (C.Eng.) license or registration would be desirable but is not essential.
  • A minimum of ten (10) years of professional experience, including at least ten (10) years as a specialist in process/system simulation of gas processing and NGL operations.
  • Previous experience in performing economic evaluations and feasibility studies and preparing requests for budgetary approvals.
  • Experience as a professional consultant in planning and execution of engineering studies.
  • Must be able to demonstrate the ability to prepare budgetary reports and deliver technical presentations to Corporate Management.
  • Exposure to carbon management essentials, Carbon Marginal Abatement Cost (MAC) curve and CCUS.
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Assisting in the technical development and economic justification of Capital Programs and Budgets, including long range engineering studies.
  • Develop alternatives to proposed capital projects.
  • Conduct feasibility engineering studies with emphasis on technical and economic justification.
  • Prepare written project justifications for presentation to Corporate Management.
  • Prepare Design Basis Scoping Papers which are the basis for project proposals.
  • Perform system and economic evaluations of existing and potential new gas processing and NGL facilities.
  • Direct evaluation of major and NGL facilities as performed by others.
  • Reviewing project proposals with Project Management to insure economic design and conformance with Design Basis Scope Papers.
  • Preparing Expenditure Requests to obtain project funding.
  • Prepare and make presentations to Corporate Management on gas processing and NGL operations issues.
  • Provide full-time consultation to Saudi Aramco management and other organizations on gas processing and NGL operational issues.
  • Mentor the training of future Facilities Planning Specialists for future development to Facility Planning Specialist positions.
