Cashbook Clerk

Our client, an engineering company based in Paarl is looking for a Cashbook Clerk to join their team.

Reporting to the Office Manager in Paarl, this position is required to take full responsibility for the cashbook function which includes: financial, administrative and clerical services in order to ensure effective, efficient and accurate financial and administrative operations.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

• Preparing payments (including communication with suppliers, collecting of all relevant supporting documents) and loading payments on Sage
• Reconcile various bank accounts to the bank statements monthly
• Capture normal batch on Cashbook for the various bank reconciliations
• Reconcile company credit card accounts and allocate costs monthly
• Prepare monthly Vodacom and Nashua allocations
• Various balance sheet reconciliations and journals
• Attend weekly to the aged payables and prepayments
• Prepare and submit foreign payments
• Assisting with any ad hoc financial tasks as requested from time to time

REQUIREMENTS

• A Certificate or Diploma in Financial Management or similar
• 1-2 years working experience in a financial environment.
• Attention to detail.
• Good reading and writing skills
• Computer Literate
• Good communication skills, verbal and written.
• Team player and friendly disposition.
