SUMMARY:
A large Multi-National consortium in the Manufacturing space is on the lookout for a Category Manager to head up their MRO and Services categories to be based within KwaZulu-Natal
POSITION INFO:
The overall purpose of this position is focused on the execution and the management of the sourcing of Engineering services. Includes category management and strategic sourcing of engineering and maintenance spend
The ideal candidate will have the below experience and knowledge:
- Good knowledge of strategic sourcing concepts and processes, and experience in driving total cost reductions within manufacturing or engineering industries
- Proven team leadership skills, management capability and experience
- Good attention to detail with the ability to sift through large volumes of information (spend data, specifications, market intelligence etc.) to solve problems and identify value opportunities
- Experience in establishing and managing contracts with a solid appreciation for typical contract requirements, structure and associated sections and clauses
- Ability to handle supplier negotiations using a fact-based, information-driven approach
- Project management experience
- Strong analytical thinking capability and skills, and
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Experience:
- Minimum 7-10 years’ experience in Category Management
- Minimum 7-10 years’ experience in Procurement
- Minimum 7-10 years’ Commercial experience
- Minimum 5 years’ relevant Business Acumen
Qualifications & Requirements:
- B Degree in Engineering
- B Degree in Commerce and Finance
- MCIPS
- MBA
