POSITION INFO:
RS Recruitment Services is assisting a large FMCG company to recruit a CATEGORY MANAGER to be based in PINETOWN KZN, up to approximately R70 000, with benefits. Succession planning – good opportunities for career development.
OUR CLIENT HAS BEEN IN BUSINESS SINCE THE 1960’S AND OPERATES A NUMBER OF DISTRIBUTION CENTRES AND SUPPLIES GOODS AND SERVICES TO OVER 1 000 OUTLETS ACROSS SOUTHERN AFRICA.
Purpose of position:
To drive food category growth through developing and implementing national category strategies to maximise wholesale and retail sales, market share and profitability.
Applicants should be/have the following:
Matric.
BCom Degree/National Diploma (IMM) or equivalent.
A minimum of 5 to 7 years’ buying and category management experience.
Thorough knowledge of procurement, buying systems and processes are essential.
Sound knowledge of FMCG Marketing.
MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Responsibilities – but not limited to:
Develop & manage national category strategies.
Negotiate national supplier trading terms & develop supplier relationships.
Ensure supplier growth rebates & manage the national/regional supplier rebate system.
Lead national category procurement initiatives.
International buying
New category development – identifying shopper trends/market needs and researching, designing and developing concepts through to launch, presenting a deliverable and the maintenance thereof.
Lead Retailer and DC concept & strategy meetings e.g., ‘good foods guide’/imports campaign
Remuneration:
Up to R70 000 with benefits (med aid, pension/prov/fuel card/car allowance).
