SUMMARY:
A well established Commercial Bank in Gauteng is looking for an experienced Change Manager to join their fast growing team.

POSITION INFO:

Purpose Statement

To prepare Business Bank for change and leads and guides Business Bank through the change as the implementer of change, proactively understanding and managing the impact of change on people.

To achieve staff adoption of new tools and processes as well as to drive a change in behaviour across Business Bank to align with the organisations way of work and achieve consistency in client experience at scale.

Key Tasks and Accountabilities

Lead Change Across the Business Bank

  • Act as the single point of contact and coordination for change management in Business Bank.
  • Advise CPOs, Product Owners, Feature Teams and project teams on the potential implications of change on People (primary area of expertise), Processes and Technology such as changes to business processes, exception processes, organisational structures, job descriptions, daily tasks, etc.
  • Design the strategic approach and roadmap to manage change holistically across Business Bank and support operations that fall within the domain of change management.
  • Design an effective framework for Business Bank to conduct change enablement and management activities.
  • Structure and coordinate change efforts and impact across Business Bank.
  • Lead change management work streams with a structured methodology / process.
  • Simplify change implications for Business Bank to make change implications clear and transparent to staff and achieve / maintain clarity and cohesion across Business Bank.
  • Clearly articulate messages to a variety of audiences, across all levels of Business Bank, as well as adapt and simplify message content and engagement style to cater to each audience specifically.
  • Reduce risk exposure and disruption to clients and / or the organisation proactively as changes are planned or implemented.
  • Proactively identify and implement improvements to the change management strategy and methodology to improve the client experience and staff experience when navigating the impact of change and increase the adoption rate and time to benefit realisation.

Prepare the Business Bank for Change

  • Conduct a change impact assessment and / or organisational readiness analysis and stakeholder analysis as required to understand and define the scope of change and evaluate the impact of planned changes.
  • Consider and evaluate areas of potential resistance in adopting change at the people, process, and technology level.
  • Proactively manage anticipate resistance to change by developing plans, tools and collateral to enable the change process.
  • Continuously conduct change impact analysis to help develop and execute projects, working with Feature Teams, project teams and business stakeholders.
  • Develop a change management plan for all required projects and/or change initiatives to ensure successful operationalisation.
  • Integrate change management activities into project plans/roadmaps and prioritise change management activities on the backlog.
  • Identify risks, based on project risk impact assessments, focusing on operationalisation, and developing risk mitigation tactics to limit the potential risk to clients and Business Bank.

Develop Tools and Collateral to Enable Change Processes

  • Responsible for planning, developing, delivering, and tracking change management deliverables including stakeholder engagement/awareness, internal and external communications, staff and client training, coaching and measurement.
  • Enable staff impacted by change to navigate, adopt and manage the implications of change through change management tools and practices.
  • Create and maintain appropriate content channels and tools to maximize change adoption and ensure a positive client and staff experience by using creative and innovative approaches; including newsletters, emails, FAQ pages, training content, etc. as appropriate for impacted staff and users working with critical stakeholders such as Marketing, Talent Development and the Pilot team.
  • Ensure that all stakeholders across Business Bank and impacted teams are aware of new solutions, project progress updates and that changes are communicated timeously by making full use, amongst others of Townhalls.

Implement Change Through People

  • Serve as an active member of Project Management Committees (PMCs) and relevant Steering Committees (Steerco’s).
  • Collaborate with Feature Teams and Business Delivery teams to ensure the successful implementation of the end-to-end change management strategy.
  • Support project teams in integrating change management activities into their project plans and reflecting the same on Jira.
  • Drive behavioural and cultural change across Business Bank, achieve operational success and drive adoption amongst staff and end-users.
  • Collaborate with line managers and use communication channels to identify, surface and resolve sensitive issues and drive clarity and alignment.
  • Support and coach line managers through challenges encountered to ensure leaders have the ability and skills to support their direct reports through change.
  • Build cross-functional relationships in Business Bank, Retail and Shared Services, apply critical thinking during stakeholder engagements, and take the initiative to drive results.

Measure Impact of Change

  • Define success metrics and measure performance against defined metrics.
  • Provide change reporting and other updates to management and project teams.
  • Conduct post-implementation reviews to assess decisions, methods, metrics, etc. as well as the client and staff experience to identify key learnings.
  • Where required, conduct investigations and assessments to complete root cause analysis.
  • Identify and implement corrective actions, record and share lessons learnt and drive celebration of success as Business Bank adopts and adapts to change leading up to the launch of the business bank and thereafter as new products and features are introduced and continuous improvement efforts take place.
  • Reinforce the benefits of change across Business Bank.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Relevant Degree

Minimum Knowledge:

  • Solid understanding of change management principles, methodologies, techniques and tools.
  • Understanding of how people go through change (psychology of change)
  • Organisational behaviour theory
  • Business acumen and understanding of organisational issues and challenges in implementing change
  • A range of change management models and approaches such as Prosci, Lewins, Mckinsey 7-s, Knoster
  • Stakeholder Management and engagement
  • How to influence leaders to ensure effective implementation of change management plans
  • Strong conflict resolution and negotiation skills
  • Agile methodology
  • Techniques to move teams toward a common vision or goal
  • Conflict management principles and practices
  • Able to build rapport with people easily
  • Story-telling abilities and techniques
  • Coaching for change (line management)
  • Articulate messages to a variety of audiences
  • Understanding of organizational issues and challenges
  • Familiarity with project management approaches, tools and phases of the project lifecycle

Minimum Experience:

  • 8+ years extensive experience as a change manager, with proven track-record in implementing change programs in large organisations in virtual and onsite team contexts
  • Working and delivering in a high-performance delivery environment
  • Proven experience of building relationships at all levels
  • Change management execution through operational line management

Ideal Experience:

  • Experience in change management in an Agile environment
  • Experience gained in a banking of financial services environment
