Chartered Accountant - Intermediate level

SUMMARY:
My client in the tax services industry is seeking a Chartered Accountant with a minimum of 5 years experience and a Diploma/Degree and Drivers licence. This position can be based in the JHB office or the George office, Western Cape.

POSITION INFO:

Client Annual Financial Statements:

• Liaise with clients to obtain information and supporting documents in order to compile Annual Financial Statements (AFS). 
• Compile Annual Financial Statements of clients and do the working papers of the AFS as per GAAP requirements and per company protocol.
• Present all AFS as per protocol and per legal requirements for review by Senior Accountant.
• Prepare the Income Tax Returns and calculations for review.
• Meet all required deadlines.

Client VAT and Accounting services:

• Liaise with clients regarding VAT information and monthly accounting assistance required.
• Prepare VAT summaries and VAT returns as well as monthly reports for clients where applicable.
• Assist clients in a timely and professional manner at all times.
• Meet all required deadlines.

Assist in review of internal companies’ accounting :

• Review VAT every month after VAT is compiled by accounting assistant and send to Senior Accountant for final review.
• Submit VAT returns where applicable and ensure all supporting documents are filed.
• Assist in the review of cash flow sent to Management weekly.
• Assist in the review of account allocations on Pastel and bank reconciliations.
• Meet all required deadlines.

Prepare Annual Financial Statements for internal companies:

• Assist in the preparation of Internal Companies’ AFS, Income Tax Returns and Provisional Tax submissions.
• Report any inconsistencies immediately.
• Meet all required deadlines.

Follow up of outstanding debtors:

• Assist in the follow up of outstanding debtors which is problematic and where assistance is required.
• Report any conflicts immediately.

SARS queries and registrations:

• Manage individual tax and VAT registrations with SARS after registration with SAIT as a Tax Practitioner.

General:

• Assist staff and management should any accounting queries arise or any research be needed.
• Assist in the up-keep of the Website.
• Stay up to date with any changes to Tax and Vat regulations and changes that might be applicable to us as company or to our clients.

Leave cover:

• Take position of acting Senior Accountant and/or Accounting Clerk when these individuals are on leave.
