SUMMARY:

Role Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct analysis of all fluid samples using relevant procedures and test method instructions.
• Evaluate and interpret analytical results, identifying abnormalities and implementing remedial actions.
• Generate detailed reports, including technical opinions and interpretations of test results.
• Monitor and verify laboratory instruments and maintain testing apparatus.
• Perform minor maintenance and calibration of laboratory and sample preparation equipment.
• Identify and communicate quality control issues or biases to the Section Manager promptly.
• Assist in diagnosing suspect results and resolving underlying equipment or procedural issues.
• Support quality management through internal meetings, documentation, and reporting of improvements.
• Address client queries and complaints in a professional and timely manner.
• Assist with the validation of new test methods under supervision of the Section Manager.
• Participate in relevant technical training and development programmes.

POSITION INFO:

Requirements

• Matric (Grade 12) required.
• Preferable: National Diploma in Analytical Chemistry, BTech Chemistry, or BSc in Chemistry.
• 3–5 years’ experience in a laboratory or technical role, ideally within engineering or customer service environments.
• Good working knowledge of fluid power systems and/or mining equipment is advantageous.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Fluency in English (spoken and written).
