Chief Academic Officer ( JB685)

Full responsibility for following academic aspect of business

Online staff development, academic advisory centre, product digitization, academic/student support, higher education operations and further/TVET education operations

Educational requirements:

PHD or Doctorate in Education

Extensive experience in education of which 5 years must be in a management/operational role

Experience in strategic planning and execution

Experience in formulating policy and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures

Skill in examining and re- engineering operations and procedures

In depth knowledge of education and training legislature framework

Risk management, communication, and business acumen skills

High level of competency in MS office

Duties and Responsibilities:

Online staff development

Oversee development and maintenance of online staff development portal

Oversee rollout of portal to all academic staff

Oversee development of training material to be loaded onto the portal for academic training

Academic advisory centre

Ensure students have access to AAC

Product digitalization

Create strategic rollout plan for the digitization of groups course materials

Oversee implementation of plan against timelines

Ensure lecturing and academic staff are trained for LMS

Academic /student support

Oversee the management of the articulation of transfer credits, graduation and certification of degrees, diplomas and certificates

Oversee management of standardized group examination process

Higher education operations

Lecturer evaluation process

Ensure process for setting, marketing, and capturing of assignments

Further education/TVET operations

Budget managements

Manage the total people cost for the academic department against the budget for the year

Prepare a departmental budget and monitor expenditure and budget variances

Planning and strategy

Assist in formulating company’s future direction and support tactical initiatives

Assist with implementation of strategic decisions
