SUMMARY:
CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER (CEO)

POSITION INFO:

SANAS seeks to employ an experienced CEO for a fixed-term contract of 5 years to be Responsible for the strategic leadership to position SANAS as a centre of excellence in Accreditation Systems. The CEO will be required to protect and anchor the mandate of SANAS through distinctive stakeholder relations including working with the Board of Directors. Ensuring that all KPI’s as set by the board are met consistently through organizational performance excellence.

Education; Experience; Knowledge; Skills and Abilities: A Master’s Degree in either Business or Engineering or Finance or Science is required; A Doctorate Degree or PhD Degree in a  similar or related field is recommended Ten (10) years experience as an Executive or an equivalent management position in a similar or related field is required; Five (5) years experience as a CEO in the public sector with experience of being accountable to a Board of Directors is recommended, as the Accounting Officer; Five (5) years in-depth knowledge and working experience of the Public Finance Management Act 1 of 1999, Standards of Generally Recognized Accounting Practice, King IV Report on Corporate Governance and the Accreditation for Conformity Assessment, Calibration and Good Laboratory Practice Act 19 of 2006 are required; Provide strategic direction to SANAS and ensure the achievement of organizational objectives. Possess over good judgment, diplomacy, strong communication skills and attributes required to discharge with the responsibilities of a CEO; Manage stakeholder relations with other CEO’s, the Board of Directors, the dtic, Minister and other relevant stakeholders.

 Accountable for but not limited to the following function: Strategy Management. Drive SANAS to achieve its mandate. Strategy formulation and weaving into business plans. Ensure stringent risk management. Ensure SANAS meets all the dtic targets.

 Key Stakeholder Relations Management: Manage stakeholders including regional/international committees through strong networking and collaboration expertise. Manage key government relations.

 People Management: Lead Human Capital by creating a strong culture of engagement and cohesiveness which is aligned to SANAS values. Enabling a climate conducive for performance excellence and employee growth. Be an inspirational leader and create organizational wellness. Extensive regional and overseas travelling.
