POSITION INFO:
We are currently looking to fill the position of Chief Executive Officer for an Insurance company

The CEO will serve as a strategic visionary and influential leader with the skills, passion and commitment to grow an insurance start up.

The CEO must be innovative, collaborative, possess excellent conceptual abilities, superior management skills, and the financial expertise to ensure a self-sustaining entity. The CEO is expected to define Company business strategy and business plan implementation by leading all functional leaders in the company to ensure the achievement of the company’s objectives and vision.

Strategy & Governance:

• Developing and implementing scalable and efficient strategies to ensure consistent results and exponential growth.
• Lead the formulation of initiatives to support the implementation of the strategy and facilitate the development of corresponding operational plans.
• Ensure governance structures and processes are in place to meet corporate and regulatory compliance requirements.

• Direct business plans and lead the management team to meet the company''s mission, revenue, and talent, profitability, and growth targets.
• Own the operational budget and manage burn rate.

• Establish and maintain effective relationships with all stakeholders, to ensure communication and collaboration to enhance business growth.
• Keep abreast of market information and updated regulations by building and maintaining relationships with local regulators, Insurance associations, and market analysts in the industries.

• Attracting, retaining, and developing world-class talent. Build and develop a strong leadership team and ensure the right level and profile of resources and talents are on board to support business development.
• Build an environment where employee behaviors and decision making are guided by the company’s culture and values.

• An entrepreneurial executive with experience in insurance overseeing strategy, new business development and operations.
• Experience in managing a Board of Directors and corporate stakeholders.
• Strong competency in corporate management
• High energy with strong business acumen and a global strategic vision. Strategic thinking, planning and execution skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Proven track record of building high performing teams from the ground up.

• CA(SA), Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science or similar equivalent degree.
• Minimum 15 years related experience, 10 years of which in management roles in the South African Insurance industry.
• +5 years experience leading and scaling a high growth start-up, preferably a company in the financial services industry.
