POSITION INFO:

Our client’s board seeks to appoint a CEO with strategic acumen and a track record of outstanding organisational leadership to successfully lead the organisation in accordance with its statutory mandate, commitment to transformation in the profession and the five-year strategic plan.

BASED IN JOHANNESBURG, REPORTING DIRECTLY TO THE BOARD. RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Driving the external strategy and implementing the Board strategy. Identifying and addressing emerging issues and responding to the need to restore confidence in the auditing profession.
• Leading and maintaining the effective operation of the organisation and providing strong leadership support, inspiration and motivation to the executive team and staff.
• Compliance with the PFMA and National Treasury Regulations.
• Having or developing knowledge of the auditing profession as well as an understanding of the purpose of auditing, assurance and ethical standards.
• Promoting and preserving relationships with key stakeholders both locally and internationally including professional bodies, regulators, government, parliament, the profession and investors.
• Acting as principal spokesperson for the Board and creating a platform for ensuring that the organisation’s mission to protect the financial interest of the South African public and international investors is consistently communicated.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Must have a CA (SA) qualification or hold an alternative, appropriate post graduate degree.
• At least ten years relevant Senior Executive level experience coupled with strong financial knowledge and skills.
• Additional preferred competencies include: An Executive Program in Management, experience within the public sector and an in-depth understanding of the public interest and the need for independence.
