POSITION INFO:

The company has a vacancy for a CFO who will be responsible for the overall financial management of Good Hope Fruit. The position focuses on long-term financial planning, implementing and managing a robust financial system and providing Management and the Board with timely and accurate management information. The incumbent will report to the Managing Director.

Specific duties include:

• Planning, implementation and management of the company’s financial strategy
• Manage the financial and accounting system controls and standards
• Ensure accurate, complete and timely management information and reports
• Implementation and management of robust financial systems, policies and procedures
• Identify and address financial risks and opportunities
• Advise on long-term business and financial planning
• Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and legislation
• Personnel management (leadership and direction to finance team)
• Liaison with bank and auditors
• Management of monthly and annual tax returns
• Manage / oversee debtors and creditors
• Export administration
• Payroll management

Requirements:

• Professional registration (CA[SA]) with relevant post-graduate qualification
• At least 10 years’ experience in a similar financial management role
• A “can-do” attitude to problem solving
• The ability to lead and function within a team
• Previous experience in the fruit export industry will be advantageous
• Sound knowledge of the Companies Act, tax legislation and regulations
• Experience in the management of IT (hardware, operating systems & appropriate packages)
• High levels of emotional intelligence and the ability to function under pressure
• Strategic insight
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (English & Afrikaans)
