SUMMARY:
Our client in the Mining Industry, has an opportunity available for a Chief Geologist, located in the Postmasburg, Northern Cape area.

POSITION INFO:

Requirements:

• Grade 12
• Bachelor Hons Degree in Geology or General Diploma in Engineering or Mineral Resource Management or Mining Engineering
• Diploma in Business Management (Advantageous)
• 8 Years Operational Mining Geology Experience (Required)
• 5 Years Operational Commodity-Specific (Iron Ore) Experience (Required)
• 3 Years People Management Experience (Required)
• Valid Code B Driving License (Required)
• Professional Status: SACNASP and Geological of South Africa
• System Skills: Microsoft Office, Laboratory Information Management Systems and Geological Software
• Technical Competency: Mining Competency A.

Responsibilities:

• Mine geology and resources reserve management
• Exploration geology
• Grade control
• Ground water modelling
• Comply with IMS standards
• Implement cost control systems
• Input into functional planning
• Implement operations effectiveness model and practice
