Chief Information Officer

SUMMARY:
Urgently seeking for a CIO to oversee and drive the on-going developments of the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) needs, including strategy, ICT governance, business applications, business processes, and ICT risk management. Build and maintain a structured environment that will facilitate the development and on-going maintenance of ICT within the organization

POSITION INFO:

KPA / Main Accountabilities:

Strategy Formulation and Execution:

• Formulate ICT strategy in line with the company-wide strategy and ensure implementation thereof. Ensure the delivery of capabilities required to achieve business success
• Translate business strategy into Technology strategy and ensure that new capabilities required by the business are supported
• Align the ICT roadmap and ICT organization’s strategies with business imperatives
• Develop and maintain a strategic solution roadmap and implementation plan
• Develop, implement and monitor a strategic, comprehensive business information security and IT risk management program
• Operational Delivery
• Ensure business leverage of available technology by delivering professional, innovative value adds projects that will support the business to compete as a global and world-class
• Develop areas of improvement across own business unit and interfaces with other business units to contribute towards a more streamlined business operation
• Ensure that the investigation and analyses of user requirements is properly done and delivery of service exceeds client expectations
• Ensure proper management of the delivery of IT solutions to the organizational infrastructure solutions, including Commercial and Operations divisions
• Develop, implement and maintain policies and procedures for ICT systems, including those for architecture, security, disaster recovery

Responsible for:

• Resolving gaps or weaknesses
• Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of technology standards, industry trends and emerging technologies. o Software development practices
• Ad hoc ICT strategy consultation and advisory
• Oversee ICT user support
• Oversee ICT Infrastructure and resources 
• Oversee the management of the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) System, as well as any other applications to ensure effective implementation, utilization, appropriate change control and prioritization of enhancements
• Ensure that company’s is effectively and efficiently resourced in terms of ICT
• Plan, organize, direct and control the operations of ICT systems in line with the ICT strategy
• Provide for the enhancement of ICT service throughout 
• Design and develop the IT framework for the digital transformation aligning it to the Business and Customer requirements in conjunction with the relevant Senior Leadership
• Provide business intelligence integrated reporting
• Drive, develop and manage the IT architecture, products and services in line with the Customer experience and relationships
• Ensure the cybersecurity awareness of end users or for those managing applications or analytics are facilitated

General Information Security:

• In support of the business and ICT strategies, develop and implement an information security strategy and monitoring mechanisms
• Improve monitoring capabilities and reports for the broader ICT environment e.g. internet usage, antivirus, patches
• Drive the mitigation of security flaws highlighted by the vulnerability scans (as done from time to time)
• Manage and direct the core ICT security (vulnerability assessments, penetration tests etc.) services provider as appointed by company
• Ad hoc information security advice and guidance on projects
• Manage ICT third-parties and through policies, ensure control of both their physical and logical access
• Drive the information security awareness initiative using the ICT Risk and Governance Manager and other internal mechanisms e.g. email and company’s Bulletin
• Ensure the design, development, review and parodic update of Information Security Policies, Processes and Systems which ensure the protection of the Customers’ electronic data

Q

ualifications:

• A postgraduate degree in Computer Science/Information Systems/IT or NQF Level 8 Equivalent
• COBIT and/or ITIL certification
• Master’s Degree
• Appropriate professional accreditation in programme and/or project management, e.g. PMP, Prince 2 or PMBOK
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience at a senior managerial level (Director level) obtained within governance, risk, compliance Of auditing environment
