SUMMARY:
A leading mining company is seeking an experienced and visionary Chief Operating Officer (COO) to oversee and drive operational excellence across its mining portfolio. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in Mining Engineering, with deep experience in managing mining operations across both open pit and underground environments—from project design through to execution and production.

POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities:

Provide strategic and operational leadership across all mining projects.
Oversee the design, development, and execution of both greenfield and brownfield mining projects.
Ensure the optimal integration of mining, processing, and operational support functions.
Monitor and improve operational efficiency, cost control, and safety performance.
Work closely with executive leadership to align operational objectives with business strategy.
Drive innovation and the implementation of modern mining technologies.
Lead and mentor multi-disciplinary teams across diverse mining operations.
Ensure strict compliance with health, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in Mining Engineering (essential).
10+ years of progressive experience in the mining industry.
Proven track record in project management, from feasibility studies to full-scale production.
Experience in both open pit and underground mining operations.
Strong leadership, decision-making, and stakeholder engagement skills.
Demonstrated ability to manage large teams, budgets, and complex operational environments.

Desirable Attributes:

Post-graduate qualification in Business or Project Management.
Experience in mineral exploration, plant operations, or mine rehabilitation.
Familiarity with international mining standards and sustainability frameworks.
