Chief Optical Designer

SUMMARY:
Our client has an opportunity available for a Chief Optical Designer to be based in Egypt.

POSITION INFO:
Education and Experience Requirements:

• Minimum 20 years past experience
• BSc Physics/Optical engineer
• Diploma/Master degree/PHD is preferable
• Sound knowledge of "Zemax" optical design S/A package and other Optical design practices
• Sound knowledge of aspheric & diffraction optics lens design for both optical & IR material
• Sound knowledge of optical system design for day and night vision telescopic/periscopic systems
• Sound knowledge of continuous zoom and athermalized lens design
• Sound knowledge of lens/prism/mirror/optical filter ... manufacturing process technology. 
• Sound knowledge of optical metrology and interferometry measurements
• Sound knowledge of photometric and radiometric units and measurement technology
• Sound knowledge of different types of detectors in the visual and IR spectrum (Image Intensifier Tubes Micro-bolometers, CMOS, CCD, ... )
• Sound knowledge of opto-mechanical design and tolerancing
• Sound knowledge of optical system evaluation and analysis
