Chief Technical Officer

SUMMARY:
Our client in the FMCG industry, has an opportunity available for a Chief Technical Officer to be based in the Durban area.

POSITION INFO:
Requirements:

• 8 to 10 years experience in  edible oils operations – including crushing, refining and packing
• 8 + years experience at a Senior Management level 
• Qualification in Chemical Engineering or relevant to edible oil operations
• Experience and a strong understanding of installation, new projects and project management in the FMCG industry
• Must be financially and commercially skilled in budget management / control
• Must be financially and commercially skilled in budget management / control
• Must have 5 + years experience in managing implementing and managing audits ( from safety to operational related audit)
• Must have knowledge of the quality function within edible oils operations

KPAs:

• Responsible for the management of the overall quality and efficiency of operations
• Ensure that business change projects are delivered in line with directions from Executive Management level
• Manage departmental budgets including signing off of invoices and quotes within mandate, including all relevant cost control initiatives
• Analyse effectiveness of processes and systems in use in general for operations and recommend corrective action or automation
• Benchmark productivity of the department against industry standards and create measures to improve productivity
• Responsible for productivity of the operations within Operations as well as the maintenance of all operational equipment
