SUMMARY:
An armored vehicle design company is seeking a chief design engineer.

POSITION INFO:
We are currently seeking a visionary and experienced Chief Mechanical Design Engineer to lead our design team and shape the future of our product development efforts.
Position Summary:
As the Chief Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for leading all aspects of mechanical product design from concept to production. You will play a key strategic role in defining product architecture, ensuring engineering excellence, and mentoring a team of talented engineers.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead mechanical design activities across multiple projects.
Define design standards, workflows, and best practices for the engineering team.
Manage and mentor a team of mechanical engineers and designers.
Collaborate with electrical, software, and manufacturing teams to ensure seamless product integration.
Oversee detailed CAD modeling, simulations, and technical documentation.
Drive innovation in product design, material selection, and manufacturing processes.
Ensure designs comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and quality requirements.
Review and approve engineering drawings, tolerance analyses, and test plans.

Requirements:

Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
8+ years of mechanical design experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
Expertise in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo, CATIA).
Strong knowledge of DFM/DFA, FEA, and GD&T.
Proven experience taking complex mechanical products from concept to production.
Excellent leadership, project management, and communication skills.
