Citrus Farm Manager

Our client, a market leader in the citrus sector, has a vacancy for a mid-level / experienced Farm Manager.

This vacancy is based in Addo, Eastern Cape.

Preference with be given to equity candidates.

Overview of activities:

Responsible for the daily operational management, supervision and control of all farming processes, with the aim of achieving the agreed business objectives.

1. Fertilizer program, application, stocks and timing
2. Chemical program, application, stock and timing
3. Yield estimates
4. Fruit harvest. Timing, staff and equipment
5. Irrigation. Moisture control, scheduling, ordering of water and maintenance of equipment.
6. H&S
7. Pruning plan and execution
8. Budgets
9. General farm operations, herbicide, bush cutting, road maintenance ex
10. Head count
11. All equipment and collaboration with maintenance department

The criteria and requirements are as follows:

• Agricultural degree / diploma is highly advantageous but not a requirement.
• 5 + years’ experience in a supervisory position on farm.
• Citrus farming experience (lemons, oranges etc) – this is non-negotiable.
• Computer literate.
• Must be willing to live in Addo
