Civil & Structural Design Engineer (EPR)

POSITION INFO:
The Role:

We are looking for an experienced Civil Structural Design Engineer for a 12-month fixed term contract for Lephalale in the Limpopo Province.

 

We require your Design work experience in Civil/Structural Infrastructure.

 

Minimum educational level:                                                      

• BEng Civil Engineering
• BTech Civil Engineering
• Engineering Council of SA (PrEng or PrTech)

 

We require a minimum of 5 Yearsâ?? Structural Civil Engineer work experience in

• Assist in technical evaluations for discipline for projects in various developmental stages, by applying appropriate evaluation methods and project management principles
• Ensure effective delivery of quality service
• Ensure civil/structural infrastructure performance is optimised
• Provide accurate feedback to customers
• Manage cost recovery to be aligned with project targets
• Execution of controls
• Recognise, understand and take action to manage risks that can impact on outputs of own job and section
• Conduct detail design for civil/structural infrastructure including approval of drawings
• Conduct project scoping and bill of quantities
• Conduct investigations and make recommendations on appropriate
• Engineering techniques
• Conduct audits on installations, equipment and facilities
• Conduct project planning, coordination and implementation
• Conduct preventative maintenance and root cause problem solving

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide technical support to Project Management and participate in project teams
• Stay abreast of technological advancements in relevant discipline
• Participate in governance systems for best practice
• Protection of Intellectual property
• Create and manage professional networks
• Participate in engineering forums
• Participate in tertiary educational relationships
• Participate in professional external forums
• Participate in relevant CoP''s
• Participate in the innovation process
• Maintain relationships with appropriate Stakeholders
• Identify/investigate problems and lead development of solutions
• Participate in compilation/evaluation of standards/principles/practices
• Conduct analysis of engineering systems/process elements
• Participate in implementation of appropriate quality management systems
• Maintain internal/external networks
• Identify/evaluate broadly defined improved engineering solutions
• Participate in analysis of business systems/processes
• Maintain and ensure a healthy environment, safe operations and
• practices, ensuring compliance with all applicable SHEC policies and
• procedures in line with set standards
• Encourage a culture that focuses on safety in all operations
• Carry a 2.9.2 legal appointment
• Ensure well-co-ordinated construction implementation using integration meetings, scheduling and commercial conditions of contract.
• Excellent Engineering team liaison to reduce TQNs
• Close out procedure driven from day one
• Engineering Integrity sign offs
• Ensuring contractor schedules are received frequently and with the correct detail to monitor progress
• Interfacing with the Contracts manager to generate the relevant commercial letter
• Continuous review of the construction schedule to ensure the correct construction sequence
• Review of contractor equipment placement for smooth flowing construction
• Redline Drawings are managed and correctly marked up and verified
• Construction complete documentation generated per discipline
• Construction executed in accordance with the commissioning sequence
