Cloud Engineer

SUMMARY:


 Our client is looking for a Cloud Engineer to join their team. You will be joining a team of Architects, Data Engineers, Developers and Product Managers, aiming to provide operational support, and managing their cloud-based systems and processes

POSITION INFO:

Duties include, but not limited to:

•  You will collaborate with architecture, engineering, and development teams to evaluate and identify optimal cloud solutions.
• You will collaborate with diverse tech teams to ensure the performance, security, and business requirements are aligned.
• Create a strategy for establishing a secure and well-managed enterprise environment in Azure - Develop scripts to automate the deployment of resource stacks and associated configurations - Provision Dev Test Prod Infrastructure as code using Azure
• Implement observability patterns using Azure Monitor Azure Application Insights and Log Analytics Workspace.
• Manage stability and reliability, including dedicated root cause analysis, proactive monitoring, and long-term remediation.
• Developing and maintaining cloud solutions in accordance with best practices
• Adapting to fast-changing business requirements in a dynamic environment as well as be able to translate customer requirements into robust innovative solutions.
• Manage cloud deployments with cloud administration tools and management frameworks with a focus on deploying Infrastructure as Code.
• Working alongside the architects to improve and implement best practices across their cloud solutions.
• Implement and analyse service metrics to drive service quality and improvements, e.g., metrics for monitoring and alerting.
• Continually evaluate service and infrastructure usage to effectively manage resources, capacity, and cost. - Building CI/CD pipelines using automation tools (Azure DevOps, Gitlab), able to build and manage a pipeline from start to finish.
• Educating teams on the implementation of new cloud-based initiatives and providing associated training as is required.
• Identifying, analysing, and resolving infrastructure vulnerabilities and application deployment issues. - Regularly reviewing existing systems and making recommendations for improvements.

• At least 3 years of experience in the field of cloud computing.
• Proven ability with virtualization and cloud infrastructure experience.
• A deep understanding of serverless technology and web application hosting.
• Proven understanding of virtual machine technologies, database, networking, and storage systems.
• Experience with distributed, highly scalable, multi-node environments.
• Strong understanding of common network protocols, including HTTP, HTTPS, TCP, SSL/TLS, and relevant diagnostic tools.
• Familiar with at least one API/Unit testing framework.
• Strong sense of responsibility and result oriented.

• Familiar with the following programming languages: JavaScript, C#.
• Experience with SysOps.
• Implementing Security, Disaster Recovery, High Availability, Auditing, Monitoring and Alerting solutions in Azure.
• Automating tasks in Azure using Powershell/CLI.
• Predicting costs and optimizing spending in Azure. - Message Queues (Kafka).
• Python / PySpark.
