Location : Centurion (Hybrid) | Contract Duration : 12 Months | Industry : Financial Services The Role Our client is seeking a highly skilled Cloud Platform Product Owner for a high-impact 12-month contract. This is not a traditional Scrum Product Owner role. The successful candidate will operate within a complex enterprise cloud ecosystem and will hold operational ownership, driving the optimisation, prioritisation, and continuous improvement of cloud platform products and services across AWS and Azure. This role requires a candidate who demonstrates exceptional Product Ownership maturity combined with a deep understanding of cloud platform operations and platform-as-a-product thinking. You will act as a vital collaborator to ensure cloud services remain scalable, secure, governed, consumable, and operationally effective across the enterprise. Key Responsibilities Own and prioritise cloud platform and service backlogs across AWS and Azure environments. Support cloud service roadmap planning aligned to enterprise cloud strategy and governance standards. Collaborate closely with Cloud Engineering, Architecture, Security, Risk, FinOps, SRE, and Operations teams. Translate business and operational demand into clear, prioritised backlog outcomes. Support the delivery of scalable, secure, reliable, and governed cloud platform capabilities. Drive backlog refinement, sprint planning participation, and operational readiness alignment. Support cloud service catalogue optimisation and platform enablement initiatives. Monitor and assess operational value, service performance, adoption, and platform maturity. Contribute actively to cloud governance, operational resilience, and continuous improvement initiatives. Experience & Technical Requirements Proven experience in Product Ownership or Platform Product Management within a complex enterprise or regulated environment. Direct experience operating within cloud platform, cloud operations, cloud enablement, or platform engineering environments (rather than purely project coordination or business analysis functions). Enterprise cloud platform delivery experience across AWS and\/or Azure ecosystems. Strong backlog ownership and prioritisation capability alongside engineering-led delivery teams. Solid understanding of Agile delivery, DevOps practices, and platform operations. Strong stakeholder engagement and communication capability with true lifecycle accountability. Ability to balance business value and operational stability with security and scalability. Exposure to cloud governance, operational controls, and platform enablement. Advantageous technical exposure to Kubernetes, Container Platforms, CI\/CD Pipelines, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Cloud Observability & Monitoring, FinOps \/ Cloud Cost Optimisation, Identity & Access Management, Cloud Security & Governance, SRE, or Landing Zones & Shared Services. Qualifications Relevant AWS or Azure cloud platform certifications are highly preferred. A tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is advantageous.
