SUMMARY:

Looking for a Code 08 Driver to provide reliable and professional delivery services using a light motor vehicle.

POSITION INFO:

Job Purpose:

To provide reliable, safe, and professional collection and delivery services using a light motor vehicle (Code 08).
The driver is responsible for ensuring timely and accurate deliveries while maintaining high standards of customer service and vehicle care.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform daily pick-ups and deliveries of parcels in line with company schedules and routes.
Ensure parcels are handled with care and delivered in good condition.
Maintain accurate delivery records, including PODs (Proof of Delivery), and obtain required signatures.
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report any mechanical issues.
Keep assigned vehicle clean and in good working order.
Navigate efficiently using GPS, route maps, or delivery apps.
Communicate effectively with dispatchers, warehouse staff, and customers.
Adhere strictly to traffic laws, road safety, and company delivery protocols.
Represent the company professionally in client interactions.
Report any delivery delays, incidents, or vehicle issues promptly.

Minimum Requirements:

Valid Code 08 Driver’s License
Minimum of 1-2 years driving experience, preferably in a courier/logistics environment
Clean driving record with no recent traffic violations
Able to read and complete delivery documentation accurately
Physically fit and able to lift and carry parcels (up to 25kg)
Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent qualification (advantageous)
Good knowledge of local routes and general road conditions
Strong time management and communication skills
Dependable, honest, and customer-service oriented
