Commercial Business Analyst

SUMMARY:

A global leader in the production of and distribution of FMCG products is on the lookout for a Business Analyst with strong commercial acumen to provide analyses and input relating to optimizations and increasing profit margins.

POSITION INFO:

The main purpose of this newly created role will be to improve, execute, and effectively communicate significant analyses that identify meaningful trends and opportunities across the business, and will also provide assistance with the implementation of a high-level of control in the commercial space.

Responsibilities:

• Interpretation of data, analysing results using analytics, researching methodologies, and statistical techniques.
• Evaluation of key performance indicators and providing ongoing reports, as well as business plan updates.
• Conducting market analyses, analysing product lines and relating this to the profitability of the business.
• Creation of a detailed business analysis, outlining problems, opportunities and solutions for the business and then actively participate in the implementation of approved changes.
• Continuous Budgeting and forecasting.
• Streamlining and improving of internal and external reporting.

Specific tasks for the role include:

• Weekly reconciliation between (SAP).
• Sending out of RSM daily sales reports.
• Sharing the weekly status of returns.
• Management of GAP closure reporting and tracking.
• Resolving/ tracking all AR claims and returns.
• Following up on overdue customer payments and aging items.
• Leading the monthly AR aging meetings, sharing action list of meeting and following up on completion of tasks.
• Making sure that the customer master file is updated with any new customer information.
• Investigating/ tracking monthly price list differences.
• Calculation of monthly forecourts rebates accruals.
• Calculating the monthly growth incentive accrual.
• Tracking/ calculating the monthly discretionary spend accrual.
• Calculation of monthly returns provision.
• Sharing monthly sales tracking information.
• Liaising with external legal on the status of legal accounts.
• Completing tasks/ actions as requested by either external or internal audit.
• Making sure that all the FY21 trading terms have been received back and updating the tracker documents.
• The custodian of all sales related data and sharing various reports with the business as and when required.
• Assisting with month-end and year-end activities.

Requirements:

• Bachelors Degree (Finance, Economics, Business Management related).
• 4 to 5 years experience working as a BA within the FMCG industry.
• Proficient in Advanced Excel and reporting.
• Strong Commercial Acumen
• Experience in process improvement and optimization.
