  Manage Project finances on the basis of contractual developments and risk situation

  • Supports the PM in managing and optimizing targeted financial results with due professional care (e.g. project gross profit, cash flow, assets and financing instruments)
  • Together with the PM ensures the accuracy of the cost and pricing calculation
  • Ensures compliance with IFRS and local GAAP requirements
  • Ensures the accuracy of project books and records, incl. recording of such in appropriate systems, e.g. SAP, Infor, Oracle etc
  • Initiates invoicing according to project progress and contractual terms
  • Ensure proper payment allocation actively performs asset management
  • Ensures the application and the continuously managing of financial Guarantees, Bonds and project securities

  Manage the project enabler processes

  • Ensures compliance with delegation of authority guidelines and group policies for commercial aspects, e.g. risk management process
  • Conducts contracts/order negotiations with regard to commercial aspects
  • Together with the PM, proactively sets up a contract and claim management, including involvement of the assigned CM
  • Ensures communication of commercial contractual obligations/conditions to the relevant project team members
  • Performs the credit risk analysis for potential customer, together with Group Procurement for suppliers

  Manage the project throughout the project Life Cycle

  • Is actively involved in sales / project initiation phase (CRM), if applicable: analysing customersâ?? requirements,
  • examine their commercial and contractual feasibility and transferability into a bid or project proposal, incl. ECC
  • Drives the review and evaluation of the contract conditions incl. all attachments, ensures examination by Legal
  • Ensures together with the PM the adherence to internal controls
  • For cross border projects: synchronizes contract structure with tax and delegation concept; preparation and
  • signature of mandatory documents

  Manage project team

  • Agrees targets and work packages with commercial project staff, delegates defined commercial responsibilities and authority
  • Holds meetings and seeks actively feedback (e.g. team members, managers, customers)
  • Takes responsibility for own and supports team-members'' work life balance
  • Supports commercial team-members'' personal development (e.g. EMP)
  • Cooperates closely with commercial line managers and experts

  Manage customer requirements

  • Is empowered with adequate authorization and target agreement to manage the project as commercial responsible
  • Manages customer expectations together with PM - identifies/creates opportunities out of the ongoing project
  • Actively builds relationships to customer''s senior commercial management
  • Regularly performs lessons learned activities on commercial aspects and feeds results into own project lessons learned activities and into own organization
  • Supports the PM that at an early stage the customer, management and project team are informed of deviations from the project plan

  Manage stakeholders

  • Ensures proper execution of all tasks with all relevant stakeholders, i.e. Treasury (e.g. financing, insurance, guarantees, currency commodity hedging), Finance (e.g. AC, Taxes, Treasury, Audit),GRC, Legal and HR
  • Interacts with all relevant stakeholders in order to ensure the execution of all issues with regard to project financing,
  Skills and Experience:

  Qualification Essential Competency:

  • Matric Certificate
  • Bachelorâ??s degree from an accredited institution in Accounting / Economics / Commerce
  • Honours degree in accounting / finance

  Experience required:

  • Function related experience: > 5 years Commercial project management experience, experience in NEC/FIDIC and contract management
  • Leading teams: < 2 > years
  • Project experience: > 5 years
  • Other experience:  2-3 years as an accounting/controller / knowledge of GAAP and IFRS requirements in project revenue accounting.
