Commercial (Truck) Vehicle Sales Manager

POSITION INFO:

Job Purpose:

To lead and manage the commercial vehicle sales team, ensuring profitable sales of commercial vehicles while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction and meeting dealership targets.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the commercial sales team to achieve monthly and annual sales targets.

• Develop and implement effective sales strategies for new and used commercial vehicles.

• Monitor and manage stock levels and inventory turnover.

• Build and maintain strong relationships with fleet, business, and government clients.

• Conduct regular training and development for the sales team.

• Prepare accurate sales forecasts and regular performance reports.

• Oversee pricing strategies, trade-in valuations, and deal structures.

• Coordinate closely with the finance and service departments to ensure smooth customer transactions.

• Ensure compliance with OEM standards and company policies.

• Represent the dealership at relevant business networking events and expos.

Key Requirements:

• Matric (Grade 12) – Tertiary qualification in Business, Sales, or Marketing is advantageous.

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in commercial vehicle sales.

• At least 2 years in a sales management or team leader role.

• Proven track record in achieving and exceeding sales targets.

• Strong understanding of commercial vehicles, fleet management, and business-to-business (B2B) sales.

• Valid driver’s license (Code 08/B or higher).

• Computer literate: MS Office, CRM systems, DMS platforms.
