SUMMARY:
Our client in the Supply Chain industry is looking for an experienced Commercial and Costing Manager for the warehousing department. Candidate must be based in Johannesburg, experience with warehousing, distribution including chemicals.

POSITION INFO:

Our client in the Supply Chain industry is looking for an experienced Commercial and Costing Manager for the warehousing department. Candidate must be based in Johannesburg, experience with warehousing, distribution including chemicals. This candidate must have an account degree. This role entails costing and proposals, tender preparations, commercial aspect management and staff management.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Understand the service requirements of potential and current warehouse customers in order to generate suitable quotations and cost adjustments.
  • Liaise with customers and potential customers when needed.
  • Accurately cost warehouse solutions based on analysis from provided information.
  • Advise on service methodologies and solutions based on customers’ requirements.
  • Ability to generate rate and revenue projections for the purpose of feasibility as well as rate increases.
  • Carry out profitability analysis on different operations.
  • Manage and control tender requests and submissions.
  • Review costing models to ensure continuous alignment and profitability.
  • Manage contractual engagements to ensure alignment with solutions put forward and accepted.
  • Ensure closure of contracts.
  • Manage contract periods for warehousing clients.
  • Manage client increase calculations.
  • Review tenders in full.
  • Manage data and submission documentation.
  • Staff management (leave, time and attendance)

 

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in costing, accounting in a logistics/warehousing industry.
  • Logistics diploma
  • Accounting Degree
  • Must come from a commercial background.

 

Skills:

  • Strong administrative and computer skills.
  • Analytical and mathematical skills to assist in quotations.
  • Great organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to problem solve and find a practical solution to issues that arise.
  • Acquire good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to negotiate and close deals.
  • Able to work independently.
  • Ability to understand business process and be able to interpret business needs.
  • Be willing to work overtime when required.
  • Be able to work under pressure and in stressful environments.
  • Fully computer literate in Microsoft word, Excel, Outlook and Power point.
