We are looking for a focused, hardworking and motivated Commis Chef Pizza with basic kitchen experience, a willingness to learn and a strong commitment to quality. You will assist in producing consistently excellent pizzas, supporting senior chefs and contributing to a kitchen environment that values skill, passion and teamwork.

What We Are Looking For

• Valid South African ID or work permit
• Grade 12 Matric or equivalent
• At least 1 to 2 years experience in a professional kitchen hotel or upmarket restaurant preferred
• Basic experience with pizza preparation, dough handling and oven use
• Passion for Italian flavours, fresh ingredients and consistent execution
• Knowledge of food safety, hygiene and HACCP principles
• Positive attitude, eagerness to learn and strong teamwork skills
• Ability to work calmly and efficiently under pressure
• Willingness to work shifts, evenings, weekends and public holidays

What You Will Do

• Assist with preparing and cooking pizzas and related items
• Support dough preparation, topping, slicing, portioning and mise en place
• Maintain a clean, organised and hygienic workstation at all times
• Monitor ingredients, rotate stock and ensure freshness
• Follow senior chef instructions with accuracy and consistency
• Manage oven usage safely and maintain optimal cooking results
• Uphold The President Hotels culinary standards and contribute to a positive kitchen culture
