SUMMARY:
Our client is seeking a seasoned Manager who can negotiate and secure the best deal for the Group’s raw material requirements

POSITION INFO:

Developing and strengthening the company name for both RBD tropical and soft oils in the South African region and creating additional outlets for the Group’s products, including Africa. You will be required to interact with external suppliers, brokers and shipping agents.

Minimum Qualifications:    

  • Bachelor’s degree in either, Business, Finance, Accounting or Economics

Skills and Experience

  • 5- 8 years of relevant experience in edible oil trading would be preferred
  • Previous trading experience in commodities
  • Hands-on experience in Logistics activities, payment related issues, cargo planning, etc
  • Understanding of South African Tax and VAT legislation
  • Understanding of commodity & financial markets.

KEY RESULT AREAS:

  • Ensure that all raw material sourcing is at the best market price generating margins in line with business expectations
  • Ensure that sufficient raw material is sourced in line with forecast at all times
  • Ensure foreign exchange risks is fully mitigated.
  • Advise and assist the sales team on input material pricing
  • Provide technical product and value chain input to the organisation
  • Networking and keeping close relationships with all the industry players
  • Hedge the purchase/sales of the products to ensure margin/minimize loss
  • Hedging of currency risk
  • Negotiating the best possible price of input materials.
  • Liaise with suppliers and the logistics department for shipment activities of raw materials  
  • Ensure business development with the intended customers to minimize risks and financial exposures.
  • Manage the departmental budgets including working capital needs
