POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities
- Lead periodic reviews and improvements of compliance programmes to meet evolving regulatory and organisational requirements.
- Conduct internal audits and reviews to ensure adherence to compliance procedures.
- Provide guidance and training to teams where non-compliance is detected.
- Collaborate with departments to review and implement policies that align with compliance objectives.
- Direct and investigate internal compliance issues and breaches.
- Educate employees on regulatory obligations and industry practices.
- Develop strategies to manage crises linked to compliance violations.
- Stay current with industry regulations and internal standards.
- Liaise with internal and external auditors to facilitate transparent audits.
- Build relationships with regulators and key external stakeholders.
- Prepare and present compliance reports to senior management and regulators.
- Coordinate compliance across all departments and functions.
- Evaluate compliance risks and develop preventative measures.
- Promote a culture of compliance organisation-wide.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or equivalent qualification
- Minimum of 5 years’ post-degree experience in a compliance role
- Professional certification in Governance, Risk, and Compliance (recommended)
- Familiarity with the King Code of Governance Principles (preferred)
- Membership with a recognised professional body
- Sound knowledge of compliance reporting and record-keeping practices
