Compliance Officer

SUMMARY:
The Compliance Governance Officer will be required to provide support to Legal and Company Secretary Functions in monitoring compliance with laws, regulations and internal policies and processes in order to identify and mitigate compliance governance risk.

POSITION INFO:

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Providing support to the Head of Compliance to assist the Board/Audit and Risk Committee in discharging their responsibility regarding Governance risk and compliance,
• Assist with the establishment of a sound compliance and corporate governance framework,
• Assist in supporting the Board and Executive Management in establishing and providing compliance management controls, systems and processes in line with Group’s compliance requirements and obligations,
• Assist in developing, documenting, updating and maintaining group-wide compliance and regulatory policies,
• Assist in providing guidance to the board on its statutory duties, responsibilities & powers,
• Assist in reporting to the Board and Executive Management on any failures within the group relating to compliance with any relevant laws and regulations,
• Assist in providing recommendation and advice to Executive Management on the implementation of compliance programs, policies or procedures,
• Assist in implementing and monitoring compliance with group compliance policies,
• Assist in evaluating and reporting on corporate governance commitments and mandates, including adherence to King IV and formulation of group governance policies,
• Assist in defining, setting, and managing compliance frameworks, policies and standards Corporate Compliance,
• Assist in conducting governance reviews and assessments,
• Assist in conducting reviews and monitoring compliance with approved policies, business processes and control frameworks.

Minimum Requirements:

• University degree or equivalent with relevant specialization.
• B.Com or LLB or other equivalent legal or financial qualifications.
• Knowledge of King IV compliance
• Good working knowledge of the latest legislation applicable to corporate governance e.g. Companies Act 2008.
• Minimum of 3 – 5 years working experience in the field or relevant in-house corporate experience preferable
