Job Type: 12-Month Renewable Contract

A leading industrial company requires a qualified mechanical technician or fitter to join its maintenance reliability team, supporting condition monitoring (CBM), predictive maintenance, and root cause analysis (RCA) functions on-site. The role includes vibration analysis, thermography, oil analysis, and equipment inspections to ensure continuous plant operations.

Requirements:

Matric / Grade 12
Trade Test: Mechanical Fitter or Engineering Qualification (N/S/T stream or Diploma)
Valid Driver's Licence
Category 2 (CAT II) Vibration Analyst certification – essential
Laser Alignment training or practical knowledge
Infrared Thermography certification or practical experience
Oil Analysis understanding (WearCheck or similar)
Understanding of CBM practices and predictive maintenance
RCA knowledge or formal training
Competent in data collection, reporting, and analysis
Strong fault-finding, communication, and problem-solving skills
Willingness to work after-hours, standby duties, and respond to call-outs

Key Responsibilities:

Collect vibration data and conduct analysis using CSI AMS Suite / Emerson software
Perform infrared thermography scans and compile reports
Conduct precision laser alignment on motor/pump/gearbox assemblies
Perform routine inspections and evaluate equipment conditions
Identify and report potential failures and recommend corrective actions
Support failure investigations and root cause analysis
Maintain detailed records of all condition monitoring activities
Collaborate with maintenance teams and engineers on continuous improvement initiatives
Participate in standby rotation (min. 2 weeks per month)
