JOB SUMMARY:
Our client in the Engineering sector, has an opportunity available for a Construction Manager to be based in the Mpumalanga area.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Requirements:

Proven working experience in construction management
Advanced knowledge of construction management processes, means and methods
Expert knowledge of building products, construction details and relevant rules, regulations and quality standards
Understanding of all facets of the construction process
Familiarity with construction management software packages
Ability to plan and see the “big picture”
Competent in conflict and crisis management
Leadership and human resources management skills
Excellent time and project management skills
B. degree in Construction Management, architecture, engineering or related field.
Working knowledge of Civil, Mechanical & Electrical Engineering disciplines
On call 24/7 to deal with problems and emergencies.

KPAs:

Planning, organizing, directing, controlling and evaluating construction projects from start to finish according to schedule, specifications and budget
Oversee and direct construction projects from conception to completion
Preparing and submitting construction project budget estimates
Planning and preparing construction schedules and milestones, and monitoring progress against established schedules
Preparing contracts and negotiating revisions, changes and additions to contractual agreements with architects, consultants, clients, suppliers and subcontractors
Developing and implementing quality control programs
Represents the Company on matters such as business services and union contracts negotiation
Preparing progress reports and issuing progress schedules to clients
Managing & directing the purchase of building materials and land acquisitions
Tracking purchases & inventory control
Hiring and supervising the activities of subcontractors and subordinate staff
Analyse & mitigate risk
