Our client is seeking a Construction Site Safety Officer to be part of their Pinetown team in KZN OR in their regional office based in Midrand, JHB.

The role of the Construction Site Safety Officer is to ensure compliance to the Occupational Health and Safety Act, regulations, and other legal requirements (i.e., Construction Regulation and Mines Act), which includes assisting with the maintenance of systems (ISO 45001) and processes to manage risks, hazards, investigations, data analysis and reporting. The successful candidate must have a deep understanding of safety and construction regulations and be able to effectively communicate them. Focus area will be on projects, site, and regional offices.

Minimum requirements:

• Must be SACPCMP-registered and have at least 5 years of construction safety experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as a thorough understanding of all aspects of health and safety, are essential.
• Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office
• Matric
• SAMTRAC
• SACPCMP - candidate level or preferably registered
• HIRA (Hazardous Identification and Risk Assessments)
• Fall protection planner (advantageous)
• Incident Investigation Level 3 (advantageous)
• ASHEPP (Applying Safety Health Environmental Policies and Procedures) (advantageous)
• ISO 45001 (advantageous)
• Must be willing and able to travel
• Valid driver’s license
• 2-3 years’ experience
• Sound working knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety
• Experience in the construction industry
