2 YEAR CONTRACT

1. Grade 12
2. Related Tertiary qualification advantageous.
3. Minimum 5-10 years’ experience in a similar role –Automotive Industry Preferred
4. ERP/MRP experience
5. Advanced Excel skills essential
6. Able to function in a demanding, pressurized environment
7. Strong organizational, negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
8. Strong problem-solving abilities

The Material Planner will be responsible for the following:

Material Planner / Expeditor of the manufacturing, painting, and assembly plant for TSAM JIS supply, multiple OEM’s as well as procurement and requirement planning for non-Automotive market

Independently organized, structured, and controlled all aspects of material planning with defined area of responsibility.

1. Inventory Planning and Control

1.1 Independently maintained and controlled warehouse inventory levels to minimize capital costs for the company.

1.2 Analysed and evaluated supplier delivery performance.

1.3 Analysed size; bin quantity, packaging, and transportation requirements, pending or potential engineering changes.

2. Purchase Orders and Shipping Control

2.1 Verified gross requirements authenticity to ensure correct information is received by suppliers to enable proper capacity planning and avoid overstock situations.

2.2 Ensured correct inventories are used for MRP, request stock-counts for stock verification and set up correct planning parameters in the system like lot sizes etc.

2.3 Reviewing all stock ordering to ensure orders have been placed timorously to ensure zero future airfreights on BOM components.

2.4 Highlight any abnormal releases from customers which may cause abnormal stock situations.

2.5 Ensure stock and raw material level at local suppliers is monitored on a frequent basis to ensure minimum agreed stock levels are adhered to.

2.6 Expedite customs clearance and delivery of shipments.

2.7 Manage the receipt of consignments and the computer processing of goods received notes.

2.8 GRN all documents and ensure filing on the server.

2.9 Control all imported components and raw material documentation.

3. Expediting

3.1 Evaluated critical report and MRP forecast report to identify shortages and ensure time resolution of possible supply problems.

4 Reporting

4.1 Compile weekly reports as per management requirements, monitoring KPI targets, stock levels and reporting to automotive customers.

4. Supplier Communication

4.1 Liaised regularly with suppliers regarding delivery of new orders, possible supply problems, follow-up of orders etc.

4.2 Assisted with queries regarding missing deliveries, catch-up plans, financial queries etc.
