Contract Logistics Manager - Warehouseing
POSITION INFO:
Strategic role in dealing with planning, administration and general Contract Logistics. Knowledge of Sea/Air/Road Freight - Strong Warehouse Experience.

â‘ Meeting the commercial objectives of the Contract Logistics division, be it sales, new
business development and / or supporting sales and the servicing team with tenders and
quotations.
â‘ Motivating, organising and encouraging teamwork within the workforce to ensure set
productivity targets are met.
â‘ Manage P&L, site budget and forecasts to meet financial targets as set and agreed with
the board of management.
â‘ Manage and drive day to day personnel’s performance, operational culture, customer
expectations and experience to meet contractual SLA / KPI.
â‘ Engage with staff positively with the regular support of Company`s HRBP’s (Human
Resources Business Partners) to a high level of Operational excellence, ensuring business
disruption or downtime is avoided at all costs.
â‘ Training staff and monitoring their performance and progress.
â‘ Communicating with other departments, staff groups and customers.
â‘ Overseeing stock control, Invoicing as well as the processing of JIT / JIS orders.
â‘ Ensuring that quality, delivery and budget objectives are met within the Logistics
department.
â‘ Carrying out responsibilities for the use of automated and computerised systems - WMS.
â‘ Responding timely to and dealing with customer communication by email, telephone and
on a regular face to face basis.
â‘ Keeping Inventory control systems up to date and planning future capacity requirements.
â‘ Producing regular reports and statistics on a daily, weekly and monthly basis and
submitting those to Corporate HO – specific to CL.
â‘ Briefing team leaders on the opportunities and / or challenges for that day.
â‘ Visiting and engaging actively with customers to monitor the quality of service they are
receiving.
â‘ Utilising the Company`s X-site program, ensure the health & safety, housekeeping,
cleanliness, environment and security of the warehousing environment.
â‘ Oversee and continually monitor the planned maintenance of relevant vehicles, machinery,
equipment and site infrastructure.
Minimum 10 - 15 years in warehouse management, logistics operations, material handling
and inventory control, with a firm contact to existing and new customer opportunities.
â‘ Post Matric qualification in any of the following: Warehouse Management, Logistics, Supply
Chain Management, Procurement and Inventory control.
â‘ Relevant degree advantageous.
Leadership skills.
â‘ Communication and Collaboration skills.
â‘ Computer skills, with working knowledge of Microsoft Office and WMS’s.
â‘ Drive and deliver results.
â‘ Good interpersonal and communication skills.
â‘ Ability to interact with clients and colleagues and reconcile accounts.
â‘ Deep knowledge of logistics management specifically warehousing, transporting and
logistics accounting.
â‘ Inventory management.
â‘ Client, partner and supplier relationship management and influence.
â‘ Operational Risk Management including Health, Safety and Security.
â‘ Commercial Acumen.
