POSITION INFO:

Qualifications

• B.Sc Building / B.Tech Building OR Diploma in Construction Management is essential
• 15 to 20 years building management experience preferably gained on multiple building projects in excess of R30 million and upwards as well as managing large projects in excess of R100 million would be an advantage.
• A firm understanding and experience working with JBCC and NEC contracts is essential
• A solid ability to update Construction Programs and work with a Planner is essential

Job Purpose

Reporting directly to the Directors you shall be responsible for the mentoring and monitoring of other Contracts Managers, 2 Site Agents and shall work closely with a team of Quantity Surveyors

Main duties:

• Monitor the construction process
• Monitoring Finances
• Lead quality assurance
• Lead contractual responsibility
• Strategic forecasting, planning and Reporting
• Business development
• Mentor Contracts Managers, Site Agents and assist Quantity Surveyors
• Be  a lead for all site based as well as office based staff

Our Client is a well known medium size Building Contractor who have been known to work on a number of refurbishments, redecoration, renovation and new builds in the Cape Town market. They have also been appointed as Main Contractors for large Commercial & Residential Developments and are currently entering an expansion phase to their existing company portfolio of building projects and are wanting to appoint a Contracts Manager who is able to accept change and work with new technology and implement plans and programmes to the rest of the current team.
