SUMMARY:
Contracts Manager / Construction Manager with 12+ years experience in residential developments and housing projects

POSITION INFO:

Diploma in Construction Management required

Type of Contract experience must include Multi Storey Apartments Blocks, Offices and Commercial Developments and most importantly upmarket residential building projects

Duties:

  • Planning and management of all construction projects, ensuring that these projects are completed on time and within budget
  • Review tender contract, and update checklist template in the system
  • Co-ordinate feedback session with Estimator and Commercial Manager regarding key legal contract ramifications & issues concerning company
  • As necessary prepare correspondence requesting Client to provide amendments to the original contract
  • Liaise with Client, Estimator and Commercial Manager for obtaining agreement and contract sign off. Prepare the summary matrix of contract clauses in the system
  • Prepare the contract templates based on the contract
  • In conjunction with Project Manager review contractual obligations and contract templates
  • Attend weekly site meetings providing advice re: CCS, EOT’s, Sub contracts, and or Supplier Agreements required for the job
  • In conjunction with Project Manager prepare and forward relevant notices within nominated timeframes
  • Maintain and update CCS and EOT register
  • Notify client formally where issues/ special circumstances or breaches of contract have taken place
  • Liaise with subcontractors to ensure all relevant insurances are current and legal, i.e. workers compensation
  • Prepare contracts, for suppliers and subcontractors, highlighting relevant issues specific to the job
  • Notify subcontractors formally if issues or special circumstances and or where breaches of contract take place

Added duties include:

  • Responsible for work planning, briefing project teams, contractors and suppliers on requirements
  • Planning for any additional work required within the set timescales
  • Responsible for collating all information in respects to invoicing at the end of the project
  • Supplying information to resolve disputes, should they arise
  • Identifying areas for improvement in existing contracting processes
  • Contractual issues

Our Client is a Property Developer who have multiple residential building projects throughout the Northern Suburbs of Gauteng
