Controls Engineer

New Vacancy!! Our leading client in the Automation Sector is looking to employ a Controls Engineer to join their dynamic team in Gqeberha/ Port Elizabeth.

POSITION INFO:
Job Description:

• Possess a bachelor's or master's degree in Electrical or Mechatronics Engineering, or an equivalent qualification, with relevant experience.
• 5 years of practical experience in a control systems environment.
• Proficient in Siemens and Allen Bradley PLCs, with knowledge of other PLC brands being advantageous.
• Experience in working with TIA Portal and Studio 5000, with beneficial experience in S7, RS Logix 5000, and Logix 500.
• Proven experience in HMI and SCADA system design and development.
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as C#, VB, C++, or C.
• Knowledge of or experience working with industrial robots.
• Familiarity with safety in control systems.
• Proficient in reading electrical drawings and diagnosing electrical systems.
• Familiarity with industrial communication protocols such as Modbus, Ethernet/IP, Profinet or Profibus.
• Strong project management skills, including the ability to lead or participate in control system projects from conception to implementation.
• Experience with commissioning and start-up of control systems in industrial settings.
