  Essential function:

  • The incumbent will support the Head: Settlements with functional and operational support in the management and execution of all corporate actions in the company securities. The role requires a thorough understanding of corporate actions and the processing thereof.
  Skills and Experience:

  Essential Qualification:

  • Relevant Commercial / Financial degree preferable

  Experience required:

  • 5 years minimum working experience in a settlement and corporate actions role
  • Minimum 5 yearsâ?? experience on BDA
  • Broad understanding of company operations
  • Good understanding of information technology, systems, and Microsoft Office.
  • Experience and knowledge of financial instruments and markets
  • Good telephonic and written etiquette, professional appearance, and demeanour

  Beneficial:

  • Good project management ability will be advantageous
  Key Accountabilities:

  Description of tasks:

  • Collection and dissemination of corporate action data
  • Ensure that corporate actions are correctly captured and treated in all systems
  • Communication with stakeholders regarding upcoming corporate actions, these include internal and external parties, onshore and offshore
  • Manage corporate action system usage and where applicable data quality through the monitoring, analysis and execution of enhancements
  • Engage with CSDP in the execution of corporate actions
  • Coordinate and manage the successful resolution of corporate action queries
  • Manage corporate actions communication from CSDP and the JSE, corporate actions calendar, balance last day to trade positions and dividend payments
  • Capturing elections on BDA
  • Prepare or facilitate letters of Representation Proxies
