POSITION INFO:
This well-established insurance organisation is building out its Corporate Actuarial function and is looking for a curious, driven, and analytically sharp professional to join the team. You’ll be part of a function that sits at the heart of financial and regulatory reporting, strategic actuarial insight, and continuous model innovation — where your work directly influences business decision-making.

Working alongside actuarial, finance, capital, and audit leaders, you’ll contribute to high-stakes reporting, model development, and forward-looking actuarial initiatives in a collaborative, progressive environment that values growth, innovation, and professional development.

Key Responsibilities:

Support the calculation and analysis of technical provisions for financial reporting
Prepare, review, and analyse IFRS 17 actuarial input
Assist with the development, testing, and maintenance of IFRS 17 models, processes, and controls
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure accurate and compliant actuarial reporting
Contribute to improvements in actuarial methodologies and reporting frameworks
Drive process improvement, digitisation, and automation initiatives
Research and apply actuarial and accounting standards to specialised insurance products

Job Experience and Skills Required:

Education:
- Degree in Actuarial Science with strong academic performance
- Nearly or newly qualified Actuary (ASSA or equivalent) and member of a recognised actuarial body
Experience:
- 3+ years’ experience, preferably within the Short-Term Insurance industry
- Strong experience in reserving and/or actuarial reporting
- General insurance background advantageous
- Exposure to IFRS 17 / IFRS is beneficial but not essential
- Project-based experience advantageous
Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Solid understanding of actuarial processes within an Insurance environment
- Programming or data skills (e.g. VBA, R, and Python) advantageous
- Innovative mindset with a focus on efficiency and automation
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Self-motivated, curious, and comfortable working in a collaborative team environment
