Cost Accountant

SUMMARY:
We’re looking for a Cost Accountant to join the finance team of a world-renowned hospitality brand. In this pivotal role, you’ll deliver accurate financial insights, optimize costs, and support operational excellence for a brand celebrated for its exceptional customer experience. POSITION INFO:

Ensure accuracy of daily figures, reconciliations, and consolidated sales/expense reports
Resolve reporting discrepancies with store managers
Manage stock and inventory, conducting regular audits across all sites
Maintain compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and company policies
Identify risks, irregularities, and non-compliance issues for senior management
Analyse product profitability and margins, adjusting costing models for ingredient costs, imports, and currency fluctuations
Prepare monthly and quarterly cost analysis and variance reports
Provide insights into store-level profitability and operational performance
Deliver ad-hoc financial analysis to support strategic decisions

Skills & Experience:
Strong knowledge of IFRS for SMEs and VAT/tax compliance
Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in cost accounting, ideally in hospitality, retail, or food & beverage
Expertise in stock control and cost management
Advanced Excel skills and ERP systems experience
Familiarity with POS-integrated stock systems (advantageous)

Qualification:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Professional certification (CIMA, SAIPA, SAICA) preferred.
