SUMMARY:
My client is a wellâestablished manufacturing and warehousing business looking for an experienced Cost Accountant to take ownership of the cost accounting function. This is a handsâon, onâsite role focused on standard costing, cost control, and operational cost analysis within a manufacturing and storage environment.

POSITION INFO:
With a longâstanding presence in South African manufacturing, the business has grown steadily into a trusted supplier in the industrial storage and warehousing space. Based in Gauteng, its operations support logistics and distribution networks across multiple sectors, with a strong focus on efficiency and quality.

If you want your work to sit closer to the factory floor than the finance handbook, this role gives you control, context, and visible commercial impact.

Duties

Implement and manage cost accounting systems, including standard costing setup
Perform variance analysis, cost control, and profitability reviews
Manage the full cost accounting function end-to-end
Analyse production, inventory, and operational costs, including stock counts
Ensure accuracy and integrity of cost data within the ERP system
Provide timely, accurate cost reporting to management
Support budgeting, forecasting, and cost-related projects

Skills & Experience:

BCom in Accounting or a related field (Essential)
Completed SAICA or SAIPA articles (Essential)
Minimum 8–10 years’ relevant accounting experience, with strong exposure to cost accounting
Proven experience in a manufacturing and/or storage environment (Highly advantageous)
Solid understanding of inventory, production, and operational costing
SYSPRO experience is essential (nonânegotiable)
